Hello everyone. I just wanted to write a little something about this blog and why it's here in the first place. My name is Katie and I'm an amateur photographer. I have a photography business called Whitecap Photography. It's still in the beginning stages of the business. I've been trying to figure out a way to make money as a photographer for the past year. And honestly, I don't like it. I don't like trying to find out how to make money. So this blog is really for me. I want to get back to photographing for the art of it. I want to be creative, not so I can get more clients, but because I love being creative.
I have to admit that I am bad about starting things and not finishing them. So, I'm starting a project that will force me to be patient and consistent. And the project is this...I will go out and explore the River Market in KC. I live in this area with my husband and love it. I will take photographs every day, but I have to edit and choose one photograph a day of the River Market. It can be of anything in the River Market. I can edit the photograph heavily or leave it alone. This project will also force me to look at one area and really dive in and explore. What are the "hidden gems" of the River Market? No, what are the real hidden gems? The unexpected? I may or may not comment on each photograph. At the end of the year, I will hopefully have 365 photographs of the River Market.
Note: I realize I will be out of town sometime in the next year, but I will post multiple photos on the day before or after the trip(s)!
